Microneedling

Microneedling works by creating thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin using fine, sterile needles. This controlled stimulation triggers the skin’s natural healing response, encouraging the production of new collagen and elastin. These are essential proteins that keep the skin firm, smooth and youthful. The micro-channels also allow active skincare ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin, enhancing their effectiveness.

Microneedling is a very safe, well-established treatment when performed by a trained medical professional. We will always assess your skin and medical history during your consultation to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you. All treatments are carried out by a highly experienced fully registered doctor, using medical-grade devices and sterile techniques. The procedure is minimally invasive and carries far fewer risks than surgical alternatives.

Results develop gradually as collagen production increases over time. Many clients notice an improvement in skin texture and glow within a few weeks, with continued improvement over several months. For best results, a course of treatments is usually recommended, followed by maintenance treatments every few months depending on your skin concerns and goals.

Most people find microneedling very tolerable. We apply a strong numbing cream before treatment to minimise discomfort. You may feel a mild scratching or vibrating sensation during the procedure, but this is generally well tolerated.

Your appointment will always begin with a consultation to discuss your goals, complete a full medical history and carry out a detailed skin assessment. We will take photographs for your medical record and to help monitor your results. Numbing cream is applied before treatment to ensure comfort. The procedure itself takes approximately 20–30 minutes. After treatment, your skin will appear red and feel warm, similar to mild sunburn, for 24–48 hours. Some clients may experience light flaking or dryness as the skin heals. Most people can return to normal activities the following day. We ask that you avoid make up, strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours after treatment and follow the tailored aftercare advice provided.
